ORNAMENT EXCHANGE for our FIRST Activity!

So we were thinking we should do an ornament exchange for our first activity. This would intell everyone bringing an ornament of their choice (unisex of course) and then we would do a game with Christmas songs and passing around the ornaments. Then your child will go home with a different fun ornament that they can hang on the tree!
We are in the works with the clubhouse to let us do our activities there so we will have enough room for everyone (we are hoping lots of mommies come)! We will have more information in the next couple of day on the date and time so check back in. Please give us your feedback on this if you think the kids will like this or if you have a better idea for a Christmas activity. We are up for any suggestions!
IN RESPONSE TO MIRIAM'S COMMENT: WE REALLY LIKE THOSE IDEAS AS WELL. THE ONLY THING THAT WE ARE DEALING WITH IS GETTING SOME FUNDING FOR THE ACTIVITIES. WE WILL ALSO TRY TO DO INEXPENSIVE ACTIVITIES. WE WANTED TO DO ORNAMENT DECORATING BUT THEN WE WOULD HAVE TO BUY THE STUFF FOR ALL THE KIDS TO DECORATE. SO THIS IS WHY WE HAVE THE VOLUNTARY FEE AND WE ARE GOING TO ASK SOME SMALL BUSINESS'S TO SPONSER US. WE WILL DO ANOTHER POST WITH THE ACTIVITY THAT WE WILL BE DOING, ECT. KEEP THE SUGGESTIONS COMING!

The ornament exchange sounds fun. Because of the nature of one of my kids--I would hesitate to participate. It would be hard for him if he got an ornament he didn't like, or if someone else got a really cool one and he didn't--that kind of stuff is hard for kids. I think it is TOTALLY fine if that's what you end up planning. But here are a few of my suggestions--just food for thought.
*Have an ornament-making activity instead.
*Have the kids make and then wrap a gift for their Dad.
*Play a present game (like you would with the ornament exchange), only all gifts are almost identical--just Dollar store items.
*Have Santa come.
*If doing any kind of craft project, kids will finish at different times. In a seperate area, have a kids holiday movie playing for those who finish early and are running wild.

I think it's great what you gals are doing!!! Way to go!!

Hi Ladies,

I like this idea! Question - will these activites be held on weeknights or Saturdays? If they are held during the weekday then I'm afraid that Dylan and I won't be able to attend :(

Women gather together to wear silly hats, eat dainty food, and forget how unresponsive their husbands are. Men gather to talk sports, eat heavy food, and forget how demanding their wives are. Only where children gather is there any real chance of fun. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic's Notebook, 1960
